Hitachi offers a blend of natural beauty and cultural attractions. Mount Oiwa, considered sacred, is home to Oiwa Shrine, which enshrines 188 deities and is surrounded by ancient cedar forests. Kamine Park features a zoo, amusement rides, and approximately 1,000 cherry trees that bloom in early April. Higashi-Namekawa Hikarimo Park is notable for its golden algae, a rare natural phenomenon. Additionally, Heiwa-dori Street near Hitachi Station is lined with cherry blossoms, creating a picturesque tunnel during spring.
