The Kodaira Memorial Museum, located on the grounds of the Hitachi Works in Hitachi, Ibaraki, commemorates the achievements of Namihei Kodaira, the founder of Hitachi, Ltd. The museum showcases historical products, founding documents, and personal effects of Kodaira, including the designated cultural property, a 5-horsepower induction motor and its blueprints. Visits are free but require advance booking. It's accessible by a 10-minute bus or 15-minute walk from JR Hitachi Station. Note that the museum is closed during certain periods, such as the Obon holiday.
