Walk Behind the Fall

Tsukimachi Waterfall, located in Daigo Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, is a serene 17-meter-high cascade renowned for its unique feature that allows visitors to walk behind the waterfall, offering a rare "uramidaki" (rear-view) experience. The waterfall comprises three streams, often referred to as the "husband and wife" falls, with a third stream appearing after rainfall, symbolizing a child, making it a site for prayers related to family and childbirth. Surrounded by lush greenery, the area becomes especially picturesque during the autumn foliage season. The site is accessible via a 20-minute walk from Shimonomiya Station on the JR Suigun Line.
