Explore the Sukegawa Coastal Defense Castle Ruins in Hitachi, a site steeped in 19th-century history. Built in 1836 by Tokugawa Nariaki, this castle was constructed as a coastal defense. Today, the main enclosure is a park offering panoramic views of Hitachi City and the Pacific Ocean. The ruins are especially beautiful in spring when the cherry and plum blossoms are in bloom.
