Sake Brewing Heritage
Saijō, in Higashihiroshima, is renowned as one of Japan’s top three sake-producing regions. The Saijō Sake Brewery Street (Sakagura-dori), located near JR Saijō Station, features traditional white-walled breweries with red brick chimneys, offering visitors a chance to explore multiple breweries, sample various sake, and learn about the brewing process. Each October, the area hosts the Saijō Sake Matsuri, attracting up to 200,000 visitors to celebrate the local sake culture. Nearby, the Higashi Hiroshima City Museum of Art showcases a notable collection of modern and contemporary prints, providing a cultural complement to the sake experience
