Shirobotan Shuzo, founded in 1675, is the oldest sake brewery in Hiroshima Prefecture, located a short walk from Saijo Station. Known for its sweet sake, Shirobotan's name is derived from the crest of the Takatsukasa family of Kyoto. The brewery was favored by notable figures like Natsume Soseki and Munakata Shiko, whose artwork is displayed inside. Visitors can explore the historic buildings with their distinctive white-walled storehouse, brick chimney, and traditional 'namako' walls. Don't miss the chance to sample the sake and discover the spring water source, 'Yokkaichi Myoga no Mizu,' near the entrance.
