Illuminated Blossoms
Eboshiyama Park, situated in Nanyō City, Yamagata Prefecture, is renowned for its spectacular cherry blossoms. The park features approximately 1,000 cherry trees encompassing 25 varieties, including somei yoshino and edohigan, some of which are over 120 years old. During the annual Akayu Onsen Cherry Blossom Festival, held from mid-April to early May, the park is illuminated at night, offering a magical hanami experience. Adjacent to the park is the Eboshiyama Hachimangu Shrine, notable for its large stone torii gate, enhancing the area's cultural significance. 30 min walk from Akayu station.
