Ancient Camphor Trees
Oyamazumi Shrine, located on Omishima Island in Ehime Prefecture, is the head shrine of over 10,000 Yamazumi and Mishima shrines across Japan. Founded in 594, it enshrines Ōyamatsumi, the deity of mountains, seas, and warfare, attracting samurai who offered weapons and armor in gratitude for victories. The shrine's Treasure Hall houses approximately 80% of Japan's samurai arms and armor designated as National Treasures or Important Cultural Properties.
