Located on Omishima Island along the Shimanami Kaido, the Maritime Museum was established in 1968 to preserve the Hayama Maru, Emperor Showa's research vessel for marine biology. Visitors can explore exhibits featuring specimens of flora and fauna from the Seto Inland Sea, as well as Emperor Showa's writings. The museum is situated within the grounds of Oyamazumi Shrine's Treasure Hall, offering a combined ticket for both attractions. Don't miss the massive ship propeller at the entrance! It's easily accessible by car (15 minutes from Omishima IC) or bus (1 minute walk from "Oyamazumi Jinja-mae" bus stop).
