Overview

Located on Oomishima Island along the Shimanami Kaido, the Hakata Salt Industry plant offers visitors a unique opportunity to learn about the production of Hakata salt. While factory tours are available (reservations recommended), many come to enjoy the famous Hakata salt soft-serve ice cream, known for its delightful sweet and salty flavor. The facility also features a shop with salt-related products. It's an ideal stop during a Shimanami Kaido cycling or driving tour. The best time to visit is during the afternoon.
