Scenic Mountain Passage
Omoshiroyama Gorge offers a scenic hiking experience through a narrow valley adorned with waterfalls, moss-covered rocks, and arched bridges. The trail, accessible from Omoshiroyama Kōgen Station on the JR Senzan Line, spans approximately 4 km and takes about 1.5 hours to traverse one way. Hikers can continue onward to Yamadera, a renowned temple complex, by following a peaceful country road. The gorge is particularly captivating during the autumn months when the foliage transforms into vibrant hues. Note that the trail is closed from mid-November to mid-March due to snow.
