17th Century Shrine

Yutoku Inari Shrine in Kashima, Saga Prefecture, is one of Japan’s three major Inari shrines, dedicated to the deity of prosperity and agriculture. Founded in 1687, its vivid vermilion halls are built into a hillside, with the main hall perched 18 meters above ground on wooden stilts, offering panoramic views of the valley. Visitors can ascend through tunnels of red torii gates to the inner shrine (Okunoin) at the summit. The grounds also feature a seasonal Japanese garden and a museum, making it a serene yet culturally rich destination.
