Rice Paddy Reflections

Tucked into the hills of Tokamachi, Hoshitoge Rice Terraces feature around 200 rice paddies cascading down the slopes like shimmering fish scales. In spring and autumn, the flooded fields reflect the sky, creating a stunning "water mirror" effect, especially at sunrise. Winter blankets the terraces in snow, offering a serene, sculptural landscape. Accessible year-round by bus or car, taxi from Matsudai Station, the site is a favorite among photographers and nature lovers. Please note that the fields are private property; visitors are welcome to view from designated paths but should not enter the paddies.
