Iconic Torii

Motonosumi Shrine, in northern Yamaguchi Prefecture, is a scenic coastal shrine renowned for its photogenic beauty and unique features. Established in 1955 after a vision of a white fox, the shrine features over 100 red torii gates that form a striking path down to the cliffs overlooking the Sea of Japan. A highlight is the tall torii gate with an offering box perched four meters high, said to bring good fortune to those who can toss a coin into it.
