Daibo Dam, completed in 1973, is a gravity concrete dam located on the Daibo River in Nagato, Yamaguchi Prefecture. As the first flood control dam in Yamaguchi, it plays a crucial role in managing water flow and preventing floods in the downstream areas. Visitors can view the dam and its discharge from the top, offering a glimpse of its functional design. The reservoir, known as Lake Akataki, features tree branches extending into the water, creating a natural ambiance. The management office provides dam cards during specific hours (9:00-17:00), including weekends and holidays. While the area lacks extensive tourist facilities like parks or promenades, it offers a serene spot for dam enthusiasts. A spacious parking area is available near the management office, but there are no restroom facilities.
