Motonosumi Shrine, selected by CNN as one of Japan's 31 most beautiful places, features 123 vibrant red torii gates that create a stunning contrast against the blue sea and sky. Visitors can try their luck throwing coins into a donation box atop the main torii gate; success is said to grant wishes. Located in Nagato, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the shrine is accessible by car from the Mine IC on the Chugoku Expressway. Open from 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM, the shrine offers parking and a unique cultural experience. Don't miss the "Ryugu no Shiofuki" blowhole nearby, and consider visiting early to avoid crowds.
