Good Omen

Ōsugi Shrine in Inashiki, Ibaraki, is Japan’s only “Yume Musubi Daimyōjin,” a deity said to grant dreams. Founded in 767, it heads over 670 Ōsugi shrines and is nicknamed the “Nikkō Tōshō-gū of Ibaraki” for its vivid architecture. Visitors perform the Kawarake Wari ritual to break bad luck and explore tengu statues and the Kachiuma Shrine, popular among horse racing fans. It’s accessible by bus from Shimosa Kozaki Station in Chiba.
