Sunset Rocks

Located in Fukaura Town, Senjojiki Coast is a dramatic rock-strewn shoreline formed by an 18th-century earthquake uplift. Named for its broad, tatami-like rock slabs, the coast features formations like Ebisu Rock and Kabuto Rock, and is famed for its vivid sunsets—ranked among Japan’s top 100. Easily accessed from Senjojiki Station on the JR Gono Line, with some trains like the Resort Shirakami stopping for brief visits, it’s ideal for seaside walks, swimming, and sampling local grilled squid in summer.
