Torikoshi Falls is located in the upper reaches of the Kakkonda Valley, near Takinoue Onsen. This 30-meter waterfall can be viewed from the road above, offering a unique sight as hot spring water and steam rise from the surrounding rocks and the base of the falls. Note that the road is closed during winter (mid-November to early May), making visits impossible during this period. The best time to visit is in late October for the beautiful autumn foliage. You can see steam rising from the walls around the waterfall basin, a rare sight unique to waterfalls near hot springs. The entire waterfall can be seen from the observatory before the tunnel, but there is no parking space, so you have to walk there.
