Horin-ji Temple, located in Sendai's Shintera district, is a Soto Zen Buddhist temple founded in 1645. A short walk from JR Tsutsujigaoka Station, this temple features the Sugaya Fudoson, a deity enshrined to protect expectant mothers. Visitors can explore the temple grounds, admire the traditional architecture, and view the small bells in the belfry. Known for its cherry blossoms, Horin-ji is especially beautiful in spring.
