Zendo-ji Temple, located a 10-minute walk from Koriyama Station, is a Jodo sect temple founded in 1579. The main hall, rebuilt in 1909, along with the temple's kuri (kitchen) and bell tower, are registered as National Tangible Cultural Properties. Visitors can explore the serene grounds and admire the architecture, including a bell tower inspired by the Phoenix Hall of Byodo-in Temple. The temple is easily accessible from Route 4 and offers a peaceful retreat in the heart of Koriyama. The lotus flowers in the water basin are especially beautiful when in bloom.
