Wakayama Gokoku Shrine, located within Wakayama Castle Park, commemorates the war dead from Wakayama Prefecture. Established in 1937, the shrine offers a serene atmosphere with numerous stone monuments dedicated to those who sacrificed their lives for the country. Visitors can access the shrine from the west side of the park, near the Oi Mawari-mon gate. The current main hall was rebuilt in 1992 after a fire. It's a peaceful place to reflect on history and honor the fallen while exploring Wakayama Castle.
