The Hitachinaka City Buried Cultural Property Research Center is located near the Tomizuka Tumulus and offers free admission. It showcases artifacts excavated from local archaeological sites, including pottery and Haniwa figures from the Jomon and Yayoi periods. A highlight is the replica of the Tomizuka Tumulus stone chamber with its colorful wall paintings. The center provides valuable insights into the region's history and is easily accessible by car with ample parking. It's an excellent place to visit before or after exploring the adjacent Tomizuka Tumulus and other nearby historical sites. Open from 9:00 to 17:00 (last entry at 16:30), closed Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a holiday) and during the New Year period.
