The Usuki Stone Buddhas, a designated National Treasure, are located in the southwestern part of Usuki City. This group of stone Buddhas is divided into four main areas: Hoki, Do-ga-Sako, Sanno-san, and Koen, with 59 of the statues recognized as Important Cultural Properties. Believed to have been carved from the Heian to Kamakura periods, these well-preserved Buddhist images offer a serene and historical experience. Visitors can explore the site in about 30 minutes, with detailed audio guides available via smartphone. Don't miss the lotus flowers, which bloom from July to August. Open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM), and accessible by bus from Usuki Station.
