Overview

Located on the mountainside of Mt. Daishi, Onsenji Temple offers stunning views of Kinosaki Onsen town and the Maruyama River. The main hall, built in the Kamakura period, is a designated Important Cultural Property. You can access the temple by bus from Kinosaki Station followed by a short ropeway ride. Explore the historic grounds, including the Sanmon gate and Yakushido hall. For a more convenient ascent, take the Kinosaki Ropeway to the mountaintop station, which leads to the inner sanctuary. Consider visiting in the morning to avoid crowds and enjoy a peaceful experience.
