Kameoka Shrine, revered as the guardian deity of the local community, is located within Kameoka Park near Hirado Castle. It's a 15-minute walk from Hirado Pier. The shrine is known for hosting various Shinto rituals during the Hirado Kunchi festival, including the Hirado Kagura, a nationally designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property, performed annually. The shrine also features a statue of Aiko Nakayama, the maternal grandmother of Emperor Meiji. Visitors can explore the shrine grounds and enjoy the surrounding park, especially beautiful during cherry blossom season. A unique feature is the 'Nidozaki Sakura,' a cherry tree with blossoms containing further buds.
