Iwakuni Castle, rebuilt with beautiful white walls after the Edo shogunate's decree to dismantle all but one castle per province, offers stunning views from its mountaintop location. Overlooking the Kintai Bridge and Iwakuni's castle town, the observation deck provides panoramic vistas, including the Seto Inland Sea and Miyajima on clear days. The castle is especially picturesque in autumn when the surrounding foliage turns vibrant shades of red, and the castle and Kintai Bridge are illuminated. Accessible by bus from Iwakuni Station followed by a short walk, or a 10-minute drive from Iwakuni IC.
