Nishihama Beach, located within the Nishi-Arida Prefectural Natural Park in Hirogawa, Wakayama, is a popular destination for families and tourists alike. Known for its shallow waters, it's a safe and enjoyable spot for children to swim. The beach is also famous for its stunning sunsets, recognized as one of Wakayama Prefecture's top 100 sunset viewing locations. Public restrooms are available, and showers and coin lockers are open on weekends, holidays, and during the Oban festival. Note that this is not an officially managed swimming beach, and barbecues are prohibited. Access is a 20-minute walk from JR Hirogawa Beach Station, with rental cycles available, or a 10-minute drive from Hirogawa IC on the Yuasa-Gobō Road. The beach stretches 500m with a width of 150m, and is best visited in July and August.
