Mount Miminashi, a dormant volcano also known as Mount Miminarashi, is one of the Yamato Sanzan (Three Mountains of Yamato) and offers a balanced and beautiful shape. Mentioned in the Manyoshu as 'Mount Miminashi,' its unique name reflects its lack of a distinct mountain base, appearing as a rounded peak. Located in Kashihara, Nara Prefecture, it's a short walk from Kintetsu Miminashi Station. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails around the mountain and explore the Miminashi Yamaguchi Shrine on its slopes. The surrounding area features parks and ponds, with scenic views available from afar, especially from Amakashi Hill and Fujiwara Palace ruins. Spring is a particularly beautiful time to visit, with cherry blossoms in full bloom.
