The Ōgawara Cherry Blossom Festival is a must-see event held along the Shiroishi River in Ōgawara, Miyagi Prefecture. During the cherry blossom season, approximately 1,200 cherry trees create a stunning "tunnel of cherry blossoms" that reflects beautifully on the river, with the snow-capped Zao mountain range in the background. The festival is easily accessible, just a 3-minute walk from JR Ōgawara Station. Visitors can enjoy strolling along the riverbank, taking a ride on a pleasure boat, and exploring the various food stalls.
