Honen-ji Temple, located in the historic town of Busshozan in Takamatsu, is the family temple of the Matsudaira clan, former lords of Takamatsu. The temple features a striking five-story pagoda built in 2011 and an impressive Niomon gate with imposing statues. Visitors can explore the temple grounds, including the Matsudaira family gravesite, and view a reclining Buddha statue in the main hall. Don't miss the popular Sanuki udon shop, Ryuun, at the entrance. The temple is near Busshozan Park, making it ideal for a combined visit, especially during the spring cherry blossom season. It's about a 15-minute walk from Kotoden Busshozan Station.
