Established in 1841, Kadocho is the only remaining brewery in Yuasa, Wakayama, that still produces soy sauce by hand using traditional methods dating back over 750 years. Located in the birthplace of soy sauce, a preserved historical district, Kadocho offers visitors a glimpse into the past with its preserved machiya-style main building and free museum showcasing the soy sauce-making process. Sample and purchase unique soy sauce products, including their famous Yuasa Tamari. The shop is a 12-minute walk from Yuasa Station and is open daily from 9:00 to 17:00. It's an ideal spot to pick up authentic Wakayama souvenirs.
