Yura Beach, selected as one of Japan's best bathing beaches, is located in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, along the Sea of Japan. The picturesque scenery featuring Hakusan Island, a vermilion bridge, and the blue sea is a highlight. Visitors can enjoy swimming from mid-July to mid-August. The beach also offers amenities such as a marine fishing pond and a campground. According to local lore, Yura Coast is where Prince Hachiko, the founder of Dewa Sanzan, first landed. Ample parking, toilets, and showers are available for beachgoers.
