The Tanaka Art Museum in Ibara City is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the works of renowned sculptor Hirakushi Tanaka. The museum features a permanent collection of Tanaka's sculptures, including pieces he donated to local schools and those gifted by his family after his death. You'll also find works by artists from the Japan Art Institute and recipients of the Hirakushi Tanaka Prize. Located a 10-minute walk from Ibara Station, the museum is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM). Admission is ¥400 for adults, with discounts for groups of 20 or more. Admission is free for students, seniors (65+), and those with disabilities. Note that the museum is closed on Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a holiday) and during the New Year holidays.
