Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha Shrine, the head shrine of over 1,300 Asama shrines, is a key component of the Mount Fuji World Heritage Site. Dedicated to the deity of Mount Fuji, the shrine features structures donated by Tokugawa Ieyasu, including the main hall and worship hall, which are designated Important Cultural Properties. Visitors can explore the sacred grounds, including the Wakutama Pond, a nationally designated special natural monument fed by Mount Fuji's spring water. The shrine is easily accessible, located a 10-minute walk from JR Fujinomiya Station. Don't miss the Yabusame Festival in May and the Fujinomiya Festival in November, which attract around 100,000 visitors.
