The Tatemae Site, located near JR Kokufu-Tagajo Station, is believed to be the former residence of a high-ranking official dispatched to Tagajo. While the site currently appears as a small, grassy hill, excavations have revealed the foundations of six buildings, including a main structure with surrounding eaves. Though little remains to visualize the original buildings, informational plaques provide context to the site's historical significance. It's a quick stop easily accessible from the station, especially convenient when visiting the nearby Tagajo ruins and the historical museum.
