Shorinzan Daruma-ji Temple, the birthplace of good-luck Daruma dolls, is located in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture. It's easily accessible by a 20-minute taxi ride from Takasaki Station, followed by a short walk. The temple is famous for its Daruma Market held on January 6th and 7th, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors. Key attractions include the Sesshintei, where architect Bruno Taut resided, and the Daruma Hall, displaying Daruma dolls from all over Japan. The temple grounds offer beautiful scenery, especially during the autumn foliage season. Note that there are steep stairs, but parking is available near the main hall.
