Takkoku no Iwaya Bishamondo is a historic temple in Hiraizumi, Iwate Prefecture, dating back to 801 AD when it was founded by Sakanoue no Tamuramaro. The temple is known for its unique Bishamon-do Hall built into a cliff face, resembling Kyoto's Kiyomizu-dera. Visitors can also see the Rock-Carved Great Buddha on the west side of the cliff. Located a 10-minute taxi ride from Hiraizumi Station, this temple offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's history and religious traditions. The entry fee is ¥100 for children, ¥200 for junior high and high school students, and ¥300 for adults. It's a must-see spot when visiting Hiraizumi.
