The Akamon Gate, officially known as Sakuramarugomon, is a historic landmark in Iida, Nagano Prefecture. This vermilion-lacquered gate, originally belonging to the Hori family's residence, is a rare example of a gate permitted for use when a daughter of the Tokugawa Shogunate married into a Daimyo family. Located near the Iida City Library, it's a serene spot offering a glimpse into the Edo period. Visitors can easily access it by a 15-minute walk from Iida Station or a short drive from the Iida Interchange. The gate is especially beautiful during the cherry blossom season, providing a picturesque scene.
