Kitakata Kura no Sato

Overview

Kitakata Kura no Sato is a unique open-air museum that recreates the historic townscape of Kitakata, known as the "Town of Storehouses." Here, you can explore relocated and preserved traditional structures, including storehouses for miso brewing and grains, alongside the former residences of important local figures. The site features eight storehouses and two relocated traditional houses, including the former residences of local leaders, offering a glimpse into the region's history and culture. Located a 20-minute walk or 10-minute drive from Kitakata Station, it's an ideal spot to immerse yourself in the area's architectural heritage. Admission is ¥400 for adults and ¥200 for children.
