Visit the Former Kayano Residence, a memorial hall dedicated to Nun Junkyo Oishi, an artist who overcame the loss of her arms to create stunning works of calligraphy and painting using her mouth. This historic building, once the residence of Masanosuke Kayano and his wife (who became Nun Junkyo Oishi's sponsors when she entered priesthood at Mount Koya), showcases her artwork and personal belongings. Originally built in the Edo period as Fudoin, a temple lodging for Koyasan Shinzoin, it's now a designated cultural property of the town.
