Experience cherry picking in Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture, a region renowned as the third-largest producer of cherries in Japan. Visit from late April to late June to pick varieties like 'Satohnishiki,' 'Takasago,' and 'Benishuho.' Many eco-farmers in the area minimize the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, offering a natural and healthy experience. Enjoy the sweet and slightly tart flavor of fresh cherries, known for their fatigue-recovering and skin-beautifying properties. Access is a 10-minute drive from Yamanashi City Station, though this varies by farm. Prices range from ¥3,000 for greenhouse-grown cherries (late April onwards) to ¥2,000 for open-field cherries (late May onwards); children under elementary school age are half price, and those under 3 are free. Reservations are recommended due to popularity.
