Isuzu Shrine is located on a small cape called Shinmeizaki, jutting out into Kesennuma's inner bay. Founded in the Muromachi period, it offers scenic views of Kesennuma Bay, including the Kesennuma Bay Crossing Bridge. A rebuilt Ukimido pavilion sits below the cliff, accessible via stairs from the shrine. Visitors can enjoy the surrounding scenery and explore the Ukimido. It's conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from the Kesennuma Bay Cruise pier. The shrine is a peaceful place to reflect and appreciate the resilience of the community after the 2011 tsunami.
