Chojagamori is a unique forested area within the expansive Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Accessible via the Akiyoshi-dai Karst Road, it offers a refreshing contrast to the surrounding grasslands. Visitors can park nearby and explore the small forest, which is said to be the site of a former residence and offers a tranquil atmosphere. The area is steeped in local legends, including tales of Heike warriors seeking refuge. A short walk to the Chojagamori observation point provides excellent views of the forest and the surrounding karst landscape. It's a great spot to experience a different side of Akiyoshidai and enjoy a peaceful break from driving.
