Mount Yoshino, located in Yoshino, Nara Prefecture, is a historic site known as a sacred place for Shugendo (mountain asceticism) since En no Gyoja opened Mount Omine. It also served as a stage for tragic tales of Minamoto no Yoshitsune and a center during the Nanboku-cho period. Famous for its breathtaking cherry blossoms, the mountain offers stunning views, especially from spots like Hitome Senbon at Yoshimizu Shrine and the Hana Yakura Observatory. Visitors can explore numerous temples, shrines, and tea houses along the mountain paths. Access is via Kintetsu Yoshino Station, with a ropeway operating from March 24th to May 6th (other periods may vary).
