Lake Miwa is a man-made lake created by the Miwa Dam, located in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture. This elongated lake, stretching 5 km, is fed by the Mimine River originating from the Southern Alps. The lake's left bank is bordered by mountains, while the right bank is developed as a park area. Visitors can enjoy scenic views from the Route 152, which runs alongside the lake. The emerald-green waters, sometimes exhibiting a beautiful color due to the Tyndall effect, are particularly stunning. The area is also known for its cherry blossoms, making it a worthwhile detour when visiting Takato during the cherry blossom season. There are walking trails, observation points, and rest areas around the dam, offering opportunities for leisurely strolls and enjoying the natural surroundings.
