Shimotsuke Kokubun-niji Temple Ruins

Overview

Explore the historic Shimotsuke Kokubun-niji Temple Ruins, located in the city of Shimotsuke, Tochigi Prefecture. These ruins, now a historical park, once housed a Buddhist nunnery during the Tenpyo era. Unlike other temples, this one features an East-facing Todai-ji style layout without a pagoda.
