The Yunomae Manga Museum, opened in November 1992, celebrates the work of local political cartoonist Ryosuke Nasu. The museum features rotating exhibits of Nasu's political cartoons, ink paintings, and caricatures, alongside special exhibitions of art and manga. The building itself, a participant in the Kumamoto Artpolis project, is a wooden structure utilizing local Kuma region cedar and cypress, showcasing traditional carpentry techniques. The design is inspired by a cluster of "kiji-uma" (wooden horses), a local traditional toy. Located a 1-minute walk from Yunomae Station, the museum offers free parking. Open to all ages, it's a unique cultural experience for manga and art enthusiasts.
