The Takahashi Family Residence, located in the Nakamachi Komise Street of Kuroishi, is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property. This historic merchant house, once serving as a purveyor to the Kuroishi Domain, showcases traditional architecture from the mid-Edo period. Visitors can explore the preserved building and, during warmer months (April to November), enjoy refreshments in the café within the doma (earthen floor area). The residence offers a glimpse into the lifestyle of a prosperous merchant family and the unique Komise streetscape. It's conveniently located a 10-minute walk from Kowan Kuroishi Station.
