Soma Myoken-gu Hatsuhatsu Shrine, originally built in 1791, is located just behind the Futaba Town Hall near JR Joban Line's Futaba Station. After being damaged in the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and nuclear disaster, it was restored in November 2019 thanks to the efforts of local parishioners. The surrounding area's entry restrictions were eased on March 4, 2020, making it accessible to all. While small, the shrine's restored state reflects the history of Futaba Town. If visiting the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum or the Earthquake Remains: Namie Town Ukedo Elementary School, consider stopping by this revitalized shrine.
